On the morning of March 7th, Sanya College and Heilongjiang University signed a framework agreement of strategic cooperation and inaugurated the Joint Graduate School, Personnel Training and Practice Base, and Academic Research Center during the Launching Ceremony. This North-South university-wide, multi-level cooperation between the two schools will contribute substantially to the training of high-end talent for Hainan, the International Tourism Island. Zhang Yunsheng, Executive vice Mayor of Sanya City, Yang Zhen, Secretary of the Party Committee in Heilongjiang University, and He Ying, Vice President of Heilongjiang University, together with the Executive President of Sanya College Lu Dan, and other school leaders from Sanya College attended the Launching Ceremony.

Each of the participants has its own characteristics. As one strategic partner, Heilongjiang University has a rich academic culture that highlights its administrative competency and diverse strength in many fields of research and study. Since its establishment, Sanya College has taken “To Better Equip the Students for Society in the Future” as its mission and makes full use of the opportunities offered by the development of Hainan International Tourism, utilizing diverse resources and broad vision to achieve its great-leap-forward development.
Under the Agreement, Heilongjiang University and Sanya College will cooperate in postgraduate training, academic research, international student training and student internships within four areas by giving play to their respective geographical and academic advantages, sharing high-quality educational resources, broadening students’ internship practice channels, and innovating channels such as education and teaching modalities.

According to reports, during the period of cooperation both sides will establish joint graduate student academic advisors, employing outstanding teachers from both schools, exchanging visits and interactive research mechanisms, and initiating cooperative training of foreign students majoring in Chinese language and literature. Meanwhile, Heilongjiang University, will establish in Sanya College an internship and practice base for students graduating from its corresponding majors.
After the launching ceremony, leaders from both sides had an intensive discussion of the strategic cooperation between them.
It is reported that the first group of graduate students will be enrolled in September of this year, specializing in Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Laws, Master of International Business, Tourism Management, accounting, international trade, legal theory, eight master's programs and doctorates in management.
